Lamictal--works but hurts

Posted by Awn on January 24, 2004, at 9:06:46

Hi everyone,

I am having a love hate relationship with Lamictal. I have bipolar 1, and started taking lamictal as adjunct therapy with 900 mg. lithium. I am only on 50 mg., but it is--or seems to be working very well--except for one thing. I have "cyclical" pain--that is, pain at various points in my body at certain times during the month corresponding to my menstral cycle.

I REALLY want to continue taking lamictal--but--are there any other drugs which work very similarly to lamictal? Has anyone had pain experiences with lamictal? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Awn
