When I stopped taking Depakote (which made my hair fall out something terrible), I would say it stopped within one month, and started growing back right after that. I've been off Depakote now for about 2 1/2 months, and I've got about 1 1/2 inches of new hair growth back. BTW, I've been on Topamax ever since stopping Depakote, and so far no hair loss....
