I may not be the most knowledgeable person but Im available will try to help.
First, why do you mention the word stabilizing?
Have you been dx as depressed or is there a possibility of bipolar?
Trileptal is an anti convulsant. Like neurontin, which Im on it is believed to have some mild stabilizing ability. At much higher doses it might be more effective but then I stumble around quite a bit and have congnitive difficulties. Those side effects might subside over time, but I think there are better mood stabilizing options, than high doses of trileptal or neruontinHow long have you been taking prozac?
I have had good sucess with wellbutrin (WB). Most SSRIs are way too activating for me. I have sleep difficulties with WB, but not as bad as SSRIs.I have recently started lithium, which is a mood stabilizer.
Id rather be manic than depressed, so Im sticking with the WB and experimenting with lithium for the time being. I do take 300 mg of neurontin at night and each morning. But I take it for fibromialgia (neruological pain).
Is your doc open to you trying something besides prozac?
> I'm looking for the best proven moodstabilizer that supports depression..... I am on trileptal. But I still sink. I take prozac also.
> maybe I should think of getting away from an ssri and trying something different.?
> any suggestions for and anxiety ridden, depressed person. That's tired of the roller coaster?
