Dysthymia and no meds.

Posted by aptcause on September 9, 2003, at 19:20:03

It has been two weeks since I stopped taking Lexipro (10 mg) for dysthymia.I have also been able to stop using trazodone (50 mg) as a sleep enhancement. I have stopped meds because I was feeling exhausted attempting to do workout exercises and so on. This has been a typical story for me as I continue to battle dysthymic condition. The good news is that I will see my internist later this week and hope to get a better handle on what new meds or combinations thereof that I may try. My reading on here suggests that perhaps I should increase the lexipro to 20 mg and perhaps augment it with wellbutrin to get around the exhaustion part. My major concerns with any of these drugs ( I prefer calling all this stuff drugs!) is that I further hamper already disrupted sleep (diagnosed hypersomnia further complicated by diagnosed sleep apnea -- yes I use a cpap machine with mask), exhaustion, and dare we forget, sexual dysfunction. Quite a mouthful, isn't it! But where would life's challenge be without all of this?

Any intelligent suggestions based on the latest knowledge avaiable would be appreciated.
