Hey all:
I've learned, both throught helpful people here and also at the adderall XR website, that food and caffeine affect blood levels of adderall.
I believe I've experienced it first hand. When I took adderall (I take IR, not XR) throughout last winter and spring, I was not drinking coffee. I stopped adderall @1 month ago and resumed coffe because I was so exhausted each morning.
Now I am resuming adderall again, this time with the coffee, and I have much more mood lability and feel that the med is working 'unevenly.'
Same goes for food. I would usually take my second dose within 30 minutes before I eat dinner. But I have found that, when I do this, my mood drops drastically midway through dinner and I feel like I'm crashing.
So here's my question:
I'm stopping the coffe to see if the adderall works more smoothly. But what about dose timing in relation to food intake? How long before and after a meal should you take adderall so that the food WILL NOT affect it?
thanks,
Peter
