hi Honey 74,

I've been trying to do that for 3 months and finally I had to talk to my doctor about it. I was thinking about death every day and it was really starting to get me down. Doctor prescribed Lexapro and I'm on my 4th day now. My teeth are killing me...er, I mean, they are hurting really bad. :) I'm trying the gum thing, but my teeth hurt so much that I can only chew on one side. Thank you all for contributing to this site, I'll keep coming back. Was wondering if anyone else noticed blood in their stools during the first week. Trying not to panic, but I'm starting to worry.

... and Welcome to the place for support and concern for all Lexapro folks and some of their family too ...
... my 4th day was rough ... you sound like you're doing pretty darn swell, under the circumstances there ...
... husbands! ... (i'm one) ... what is their deal? ... ... i seem to remember something like ... "In sickness and in health ..." when somebody was making vows?

... i did have blood in my stools ... and nose bleeds as well when i began lexapro, during my first week ...
... however, i had just had a physical and had just done the stool specimens for occult blood ... ... so i had been completely checked out ... ... including, within like a month of starting lexapro, a colonoscopy ... ....
... ... so i knew i had nothing sneaking up on me ... and it is clear now that i had hemorrhoids ... hence blood.

... you do definitely want to have your docotor check this out to make sure it's alright ... ... nothing to have to be guessing about while trying to handle the emotional rollercoaster lex can take you on that 1st several weeks there ....
... also you want to give your doctor a complete rundown of ever SE you've gotten, just to keep them up-to-date, and to make 'em earn their money too!

and Wayne's right about water ... drink LOTS of water ... lex will try to dehydrate you ... ... been feeling extra thristy lately ? ... .... ... nature's way to saying "You're getting dehydrated !" ....

... i've been using metamucil, but i'm thinking of trying citricel ... ... now at 52 i'm finding soluble fiber is one of my nutritional supplements ... ... HA!! (he laughs at himself!)

hang in there.. .. .. take care .....
... and try to talk to that husband of yours ...
... some of us are trying to Improve husbands' reputations ... ! ... HA!

do take care!
~ jim
