Hi All,
I've had teeth grinding much of my life. When my psyciatrist added Celexa (the precursor of Lexapro) the teeth grinding got worse.
This psychiatrist prescribed 1mg of Klonopin to take before I go to bed at night. This worked for over a year.
I moved to California and I had to get a new psychiatrist. This psychiatrist felt that using Klonopin was not the best treatment for the teeth grinding. He said that it interrupted my sleep architecture.
Therefore he prescribed Neurontin as I weened off of the Klonopin. Finally I have been maintained on 600mg of Neurontin before bed for the past 6 months or so.
My conclusions for me:
Klonopin works
Neurontin also worksAll, your mileage may vary. I don't know if what worked for me will work for you. Not all of us react the same way to the same medications.
Blessings,
Simcha> Hello. I don't have an answer for you, but also have the problem with teeth grinding. Been on 10 mg. of Lex for 5 weeks, and I think it's been a problem since day one. I guess I was just hoping it'd go away, so I'm also interested in knowing what can be done. Let me know if you find something that helps.
