The general consencious is that 1.8 grams of EPA+DHA (which are the two active omega 3 fats) per day is effective.

Most fish oil comes in 1g capsules with an active
EPA = 180mg, DHA = 120mg per capsule. This totals about 6 capsules of the 120/180 content ratio.

All brands will work equally, though some are more purified than others. Better brands will go through more screening for impurities.


Fish oil is effective. Especially If your depression involves concentration problems, low energy, and/or anxiety. It only takes a few days and you will notice an effect.
