I always take chromium supplements when I'm dieting, and I've tried my best to be objective about judging whether or not they work. I feel they actually do decrease carbo-craving a great deal, but YMMV. Just be sure to use chromium polynicotinate, not the more common chromium picolinate. I'd also suggest checking your daily multivitamin, if you take one, to see if it contains chromium picolinate. It's not the chromium that's the bad guy, it's the picolinate--there have been studies that show it has an adverse effect on your DNA, and that's certainly not something I'd mess with. I've had several pharmacists warn me about this, and so I've researched it a bit and found what they said to be true. So now I always make sure none of my supplements contain anything in the picolinate form.
