I've been thinking about how to reply to this.....

Early childhood events can cause permanent changes in stress-reactivity, even in the absence of identifiable single traumatic incidents. The pattern of the experiences can add up to trauma. Later in life, exposure to trauma can trigger massive PTSD reactions, but "the pump was primed" many years before. That's my experience.
