Obviously, you know the purging is not healthy. Are you or have you been in therapy about it? You have to get honest with yourself...
My sister has (or had) an eating disorder, anorexia and bulimia for many years, and I think she's over it. But when I talked to her about starting an antidepressant, I warned her about Wellbutrin. I said IF she chose to be up front with her doctor, and talk about the ED, that the doc would probably NOT prescribe the Wellbu. Because of the anecdotal evidence that it could make the ED worse, and if that happened, there is the seizure risk.
So I do not think it's cool at all for your doc to keep you on the Wellbu. Too risky, and pushing you toward unhealthy behaviors that might land you in the hospital, for any number of reasons.
My sis was honest with her doc about the ED, and was prescribed Celexa, and she is doing GREAT on it so far. I asked her how her appetite was, and she said she was finding food interesting again. What a relief...
I hope you can get this figured out - sincerely concerned for your health,
but if you want me to mind my own business, just say so...best wishes,
Wendy
