TRD is correct. Effexor is like the other antidepressants in that they take a while to work. Usually 3 or 4 weeks to get a full effect. After a few weeks, the doctor might increase the dose since your daughter started on a low dose. Side effects are very common during the first few weeks and usually diminish.
