In reply to Why are you on a MAOI?? How's it working for you??, posted by caha on March 4, 2003, at 22:03:41
> Just wondering. My daughter has been on MANY different AD's - Prozac, Wellbutrin, Elavil, Paxil, Zoloft, etc. Also went with lithium augmentation for a while. She's been on Risperdal and Seroquel. Currently she's on Geodon and Prozac.

> She's not psychotic now thankfully but the depression is devastating again. Lethargy, either insomnia or 13+ hours plus a nap, no ambition, social anxiety, etc.

> Just wondering why those of you on a MAOI changed from an AD? Thanks..........She sounds like a prime candidate for an MAOI. I also tried many others with unsatisfactory results and/or intolerable side effects. Nardil is the only thing that really helped with depression and anxiety along with improved mental focus and motivation without being over stimulating or sedating, at least that has been my experience.
