5-HT6 antagonists can cause yawning. This makes me wonder if SSRI's are causing 5-HT6 receptors to become desensitized. There may be some interindividual differences in 5-HT6 sensitivity; that would explain why only some people are affected by this. 5-HT6 receptors are involved in acetylcholine neurotransmission, so that fact could have something to do with it.
