As an antoxidant it may protects brain cells from damage from other drugs. Example: it is recommended on The DXM FAQ as an aid to preventing brain damage (Ollney's Lesions). I have never taken it all by itself.
BTW, re doses - the usual consumer packaging in 30mg caps, to be taken twice a day, may be FAR too
light for protecting brain cells when other drugs are being taken that have harmful potential. I ran across a research article on the web on treating Parkinson's disease with CO Q-10. They used doses of 300, 600 and 1200mg, and found significant improvent at each level over thr previous one.Tony P
