In reply to geodon and over-arousal, posted by babs on January 26, 2003, at 16:45:53
Hi Babs--
"Over-arousal" refers to manic tendencies, I believe. On my 2nd day on Geodon I felt and acted a bit hyper (spoke and moved faster and more often and voiced one idea after another)--most unusual behavior for someone known as "The Immovable Object". The effect was transitory, completely gone by day 5. But I'm not bipolar; Geodon might not be an appropriate rx for those who are--at least, not without a good mood stabilizer already in place.
Geodon was anorectic for me, as it is for most others, I think. No appetite, delightful! It is the only drug I've taken which enabled me to catch a glimpse of "normal". I was devastated to have to discontinue it when EPS symptoms developed.
Hope this helps---medlib
