Can you have Bi-polar dis with out having manic ep

Posted by noelle on December 27, 2002, at 5:45:38

I understand that there are several types of Bi-polar disorder but I wondered if one can be Bi-polar with experiences manic eposodes. I have always had a great deal of mood swings from day to day. Some days I have energy (moderate) and some days I'm so tired and lathargic. I have period of intense anxiety but it is usually triggered by an event( can't fit into pants, freak out). I am on Effexor but every day is different, I never know how I'm going to feel. I do take Neurontin, only 300-600 mg. I took the MMPI and it only showed high levels of anxiety and depression. Would this test indicate Bi-polar tendencies if I had them
