> Hi Joel- I think Utopizen's response should be taken with a grain of salt. I am on risperdal, another antipsychotic, and once I added adderall, I felt the best I have felt in the 13 years since I suffered my first depressive episode. I don't feel euphoric, I just feel, for the first time in 13 years, normal. Or what I think normal must feel like. Antipsychotics are heavy duty drugs but I just spoke with my pdoc yesterday and he has been doing some research in the fiels and said AP's are now being used to help refractory anxiety (I guess this is what I'm on it for primarily) that doesn't seem to be helped by other drugs like AD's, benzos, mood stabilizers. Yes, there is a risk of tardive dyskinesia but if you know that and are willing to accept it and the drugs work for you.....
Its good to know of someone else who had success with this. I thought the combination of 5-ht2 antagonism and adderall was interesting. It might have some sort of dopamine-modulating effect, coupled with the dopamine boost from adderall.
Also, doesnt the risk of tardive dyskinesia and other side effects shrink at smaller doses? I only take one tiny 25mg pill at bedtime, and i think the usual effective dose is around 200mg+ for seroquel. Not to meantion that it has a very short half life and you have to take it twice a day normally.
