Might not be a good idea.

In reply to Mirapex for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, posted by Michael D on November 24, 2002, at 12:36:23

PTSD would probably respond much better to
an SSRI.

The only problem I have with Mirapex, is that
by raising dopamine, it can intensify feelings,
it can, in suseptable indeviduals cause feelings of paranoia, and even cause hallucinations.
Depending on the situation - it may intensify
the tramatic experience.

You see dopamine has very strong infuance on memory, spacial ability and visual recall.
In other words it may bring the tramatic situation back with a vengence.

I would personally recomend someting like celexa, or paxil, because of their likelyhood not to raise dopamine.

All in all, you can give it a try, but pay close attention to how you feel. Before starting - make a journal of how you feel about the tramatic event, and rate it.

Any others have any ideas, comments ??
