I am exploring the use of negative ionizes for the treatment of seasonal affective disorder.
Was gung-ho about treating myself with one until a biologist friend of mine suggested I check out whether their have ever been any reports of long term negative of effects resulting from ionizer useWhat especially concerns her is the fact that the ionizer is affecting one hormones and so could, at least theoretically, increase a person's risk of developing cancer (where they to ingest the ions several hours each day over several months of the year) This is a relevant concern because many ionizer users report that in order to get proper benefit from it they must have it on while they sleep.
If anyone knows of documented information or has heard rumors about this phenomena I would be grateful for citations and-or any information known to you.
Thanks
Leor
P.S. I have already tried full spectrum light therapy. While I derive some benefit from it, this treatments has not been sufficient on its own.
