I have found that antidepressants in general make me cycle btw depression and hyperactivity and irritability. my dr won't consider me manic or hypomanic since it seems i never had these problems when off meds, so it is probably caused by the meds. i have found that a mood stabilizer like Neurontin or Gabitril help. Lithium isn't as helpful with rapid cylers, those who cycle more than once a week, so i have heard. i think the label is less important than just figuring out what meds help the most. in my case, although i haven't been diagnosed with anything besides dsythymia and OCD, i was put on mood stabilizers anyway and they helped. I don't have bipolar relatives, though. i think that made my dr reluctant to diagnose cyclothymia or hypomania in my case. it is all so complicated, isn't it? good luck!
