Nicotine, and similar stimulants, increase
the activity of Dopamine, in the central
nervous system, dopamine has been linked
to mood, motor control, color preception, and
even apetite. After long term use of Nicotine,
dopamine receptors develop changes in response
to the elavated levels of dopamine.

Wellbutrin or Zyban, inhibits the reputake
of dopamine, and norepinephrine, but because
of its ability to raise dopamine levels has
been used in nicotine withdrawl.

Zyban has been reported to reduce the advent of
cravings for cigarettes. Vigorous excercise will
also help your body adjust to smoking reduction
as it has an ability to stimulate the growth of
new neurotransmitter receptors.

Good luck on quitting. It is one of the best
choices you can make for your health.
