Thanks LLL. I was also hoping maybe someone who drank a little more could share their experience (I need to drink a lot to get "buzzed" as I'm 220lbs).
>I highly recommend you give up your desire to catch a buzz, I believe you may be putting yourself in jeopardy plus decreasing the effectiveness of the antidepressant. But, I may be wrong and would also like to hear others experiences.By the way, what was it like having the hypertensive crisis? I'm wondering cause I want to know the warning signs. Does your heart rate and blood pressure necessarily rise before you get the migraine? Does it happen immediately after eating the problematic food?
>For me it took about 30-40 minutes and it was a sudden very, very, very, very intense throbbing migraine like nothing I had ever experienced. But then I freaked which I'm sure made it all worse. I had EMT take me via ambulance to the hospital - very unpleasant, embarrasing and humiliating experience. There are past posts on "hypertensive crisis" I think you'll find helpful. Also, to any other MAOI people, I have a few specific food questions (i have tried to read up on as many posts as I can):
Is smoked salmon ok? (I assume not) >NO!
Is canned unsmolked salted salmon ok?>YES, just made breaded fried salmon cakes.
Are hot dogs ok?> no cured, smoked meat
Is Kraft Macoroni and Cheese ok? YES, read the MAOI short list on this site
Are Nestle Crunch bars ok (they have soybean oil and chocolate and whey extract)?>eat chocolate in moderation
How about tapioca pudding?>YES
Sardines? (I've read these are no good, but they would seem fine otherwise and I adore them)>Don't knowthis article may be of help, I may have posted it already:
