Who told you results would be on July 17th?

That's silly. Your MRI should be read by a radiologist on the day of the test or the next day. Dictation should be transcribed within the next two days. Your doctor should recieve a typed report two or three days following transcription.
Taking into account the July 4th holiday and the following weekend, the results of your MRI should be available to your doctor by the 10th.
