Sublingual Vitamin B-12 - question

Today I bought some sublingual Vitamin B-12 from Trader Joe's. I took one and it dissolved under my tongue instantly. The minute I put it under my tongue, it turned from a pill to a powdery substance. Is this the way sublingual Vitamin B-12 is supposed to dissolve? I thought it would take longer than that.
