I have to admit I love my Klonopin. It just seems to reduce the anxiety without any side effects at all. I can even take a bit during the day without feeling sleepy if I need to. But one of the things I like about it is that it reduces the physical sensations of anxiety without reducing the thoughts associated with the anxiety. So I might be late for work, but I would still care. I just wouldn't feel the anxiety (as much).
I'm glad your doctor didn't make the medication changes you feared. In my experience, the doctors never reduce anything that is working and will keep you on those medications forever without tapering unless you request otherwise.
