BENZO question

Hello, i currenty am perscribed .5mg of xanax in am. It works fine for about 6-8 hrs, then i could feel the withdrawl and panic anxiety come back. If i tell my doc to switch me to klonazipam 1 or 2mg in am, will i get a better long lasting effect for teh day?
