Here is a list taken from "Eating for Optimal Health" by Andrew Weil, MD. The following are considered to have a low GI (below 55):
Kellogs Brand Buds w/Psyllium, Kellogs Special K, oatmeal, bulgar, rice (basmati, brown, Uncle Ben's converted, parboiled), egg fettuccine, ravioli, spaghetti, pumpernickle bread, sourdough bread, sponge cake, stoneground whole wheat bread, oatmeal cookies, social tea biscuits, carrots, green peas, sweet corn, sweet potato, yam, baked beans, butter beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, lentils, navy beans, soybeans, apples, apricots, bananas, cherries, grapefruit, grapes, orange, peaches canned in juice, pears, plums raisins, watermelon, whole and skim milk, low-fat flavored yogurt, apple juice, orange juice, dark chocolate, twix cookie bar and snickers.
