RICHELSON: GRs CRH ACTH (HPA axis)

Posted by Cam W. on April 16, 2001, at 20:38:40

Dr.Richelson - I am curious to hear your comments on several researchers (eg Florian Holsboer and Charles Nemeroff) on the role of the HPA axis in depression. I am interested in the relation of the resolution of depressive symptoms via normalization of glucocorticoid receptor function (GR), corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) secretion, and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and their relation to the effects of antidepressant receptor binding, or possible downstream effects, of which you may have heard.

Thanks again for your time - Cam W.
