> I'd like to learn about hypomania, mixed episodes...what did you feel/think or act?

for me:

hypomania - extremely confident/driven, slightly euphoric, able to withstand large amounts of stress, confrontational in a positive way (ex: can't stand when others say "it can't be done" at work when I feel it can, give PC advice), feel compelled to help everyone/anyone with advice, very complementary and polite to strangers, extrospective (think more about others than myself). Keen insight into macroscopic issues.

dysphoric - still confident/driven, not euphoric-feelings, anxiety related to difficulties achieving unusually high standards for self or organization, confrontational in a negative way, very impatient-intolerant of what I percieve as incompetence. Don't feel good inside, but not depressed. Somewhat frantic feeling.

I would consider my dysphoria a somewhat "mixed" state for me.

On the ugly flip slide:

mild depression - loss of self confidence, feelings of emptyness worthlessness, withdrawn, overly introspective, feel detached from people, lethargy. apathy. difficulty experiencing pleasure beyond psychotropic (alcohol, whatever) means.

severe depression - ruminations about things that went awry in life. perpetual thoughts about death. complete lack of confidence or ability to deal with stress. envious of those not in my position. feel misunderstood. complete lack of drive. loss of ability to maintain simple day to day tasks (like paying bills). want to hide/be left alone. inability to experience any pleasure.

Often in the dysphoric or mildly depressed states.
Occasional hit swings into hypomania or severe depression.

What is your "dysphoria" like? I think the symptoms can very wildly from person to person.
