Ouch. I thought it was a joke similar to the to the lead balloon I tossed out regarding the location of a sense of humor.

Thanks for asking, Cam.

I have not been well, and I am very, very disappointed that the addition of Risperdal 1.0mg - 2.0mg did not stick. I did glean some sort of antidepressant effect that was episodic, but the degree of improvement waned and has left me with nothing. I have been taking Risperdal for over two months. I know of someone took it for two to three months before experiencing a significant and steady improvement. I think it was worth the investment of time.

Finding a partial improvement with the optimism of it to continue is great to experience, but demoralizing to lose. Sometimes worse.

I am not sure where I am going next. If Risperdal had provided me with a partial and steady improvement, I would probably ask to add Mirapex. Right now, my goal is to switch over from desipramine to nortriptyline and to discontinue Parnate in favor of some other drug, Nardil or Effexor come to mind. Also, I would definitely be interested in trying ziprasidone based on my partial positive responses to both Zyprexa and Risperdal.

By the way, I read somewhere that the diabetes and insulin insensitivity sometime brought about by olanzapine or clozapine is due to these drugs' actions at 5-HT1b receptors on the beta cells (Islets of Langherhans) of the pancreas.
