Xanax - dosage?

Hi - I've just restarted on Paxil and am waiting for it to kick in. In the meantime the PDoc has put me on 1mg of Xanax four times a day. I'm just wondering is this is a high or low dosage? Is anyone else on it while they're waiting for the meds to kick in?
