I think that the more you mix medications the less you know about which one is having what effect on you. The fewer the better; or at least only change one thing at a time for a while and see what that effect has on you.

You were not taking very much Xanax and, with a half life of 12 hours and an efficacy of half that, you might have been experiencing some whoosh as it entered and left your system. I doubt you had a stable level of it. Some people don't need that but it sounds like you perhaps do.

Sometimes Celexa or the other SSRI's cause anxiety while your system is becoming accustomed to them so I wouldn't think it would be a good time to cut back on the Xanax while you're building up the Celexa.

If you read the side effect profile of both Celexa and Xanax, you might ask your doc about changing your dosage of Xanax and staying away from the Celexa for a while. A pointer to Celexa is www.celexa.com. You can get the info on Xanax at www.mentalhealth.com
