Amanda - I have just spent a frustrating 1.5 hours trying to find an answer for you. I was all over the web and got no definitive answer for you. Any information I could find said that this combination would be safe, but I am not 100% sure. One thing I did find was that Lamictal when used in combination therapy (in epilepsy) had double the risk of getting a rash as a side effect. I don't know if this holds for Topamax, as it is not metabolized to any great extent. The combination looks safe, but looks can be deceiving. I have not seen this combination in clinical practice, yet. Maybe someone out there has seen this & will comment.
