Phil, I saw some of the personal web pages of people who have had surgery--apparently there are different types of procedures. But the stuff I read did look quite invasive and painful, it's true.
What an awful predicament.
I HATE that these surgeons were so insensitive to you!!!
I'm glad you felt ok talking about it, though. I don't know if it helps, but to have suffered with this so long and not felt anyone was listening must make it worse.
Your friends saying it isn't a big deal--do they mean that to try to assure you that this difference doesn't change how they feel about you?
I am sure from your point of view it must be a HUGE deal, with the physical discomfort and especially not getting any support growing up with this.
