You have described what would, to me, be a fantasy-wonderful Halloween. Wowee! You are so lucky to have a WH to share it with, too!

How clever, creative, fun, evil (wink), scary...just perfect. I'm definitely entering clinical levels of envy here. I know you will have a blast.

At Ren Fest (come to Texas!!) I am with a group that plays mainly recorders with the occasional viol, or other instruments of the period. I am the percussionist, and I can keep a steady beat. That is about my only claim to fame. I use a handheld drum with a mallet (and zills and things like that). I can drum on a dumbek (actually prefer the larger drums, tho), but I think my arms must be too short or something, because I've never been able to play and hold one like you see them do. The bigger drums are fun, but not exactly the image of a renaissance lady doin the go-do, gun-dun with a jimbae (sp) between my knees.

Boy, it's always sumpn, isn't it??

Anyway your halloween plans sound heavenly to me. Wish I could play, too.

xoxo

> I haven't decided what to go as yet.... but we have a dozen mannequins (WH calls them the sorority from hell) --- they'll be adoring the house, trees, roof and yard, under strobe lights. I dress up like one of the mannequins (vampire, witch, werewolf, dead bride, etc.) and attempt to blend in. A little hard since they're the fashion mannequins at 5'11" and I'm 5'2" -- but I digress. As the little chocolate thieves attempt to take the walk of terror to the front door, I'll move at the ...ahem... appropriate moment. The best hits of all are when the mini-terrors DROP their bags of goodies (more for me that way) and flee....I've thought, too, of dressing as a crone but that'd be a little too typecasting! :) WH does the same thing dressed in a more masculine fashion -- although not always. His biggest hit was when HE dressed as an old crone. Adults and kiddies alike do NOT expect a hunched-over old crone to move like an athlete! His blue gown was exquisite that year. He's already begun his search for the perfect costume.
> We drove up to the Ren Faire here yesterday, but was cold and raining, so we drove home... we'll return next weekend.
> I'd LOVE to participate in a Ren Faire. Didn't know you played an instrument.... tell me about it? :)
