I'm reassured by your comments, Shar and Judy, because I felt devastated Wednesday. After attending a mandatory staff luncheon, I went home, put myself to bed, and slept straight through for 15 hours. I'll probably put down the time missed from work as sick leave, but it will be hard to say exactly why if asked.
Like my body's ability to wake me at precisely 7:00 every morning, I feel significant emotional anniversaries with surprising intensity. Ironically (because I work for an international media development organization), I stopped reading the paper and watching the news sometime last October, and I've only very recently been able to resume any familiarity with current events at all.
I feel less isolated in my shock and sadness because of your sharing. Thank you for posting about this.
