I have a couple of suggestions. One is to locate someone who can give you a deep tissue massage. After the massage therapist located my trigger points and worked on them my pain level dropped for nearly three weeks. Second, neurontin is a drug used for seizures, but also for chronic pain. Next, trigger point injections of cortisone are wonderful IF they get in the right place. I take a marker and put a dot on myself before going to the doctor. My doctor will give me up to 5 injections at a time. Don't worry. It's not a big deal to have done. As far as medications go try flexeril. It is a muscle relaxer that is not addictive. I used it very successfully for 5 years. However, when I got really bad I used valium - about 10 mg seemed to break the cycle. I would usually just need it for a few days. It was my "big gun" to help the pain.Hope these suggestions might help.
