Difference in generic brands of prozac?

Posted by Lynn on April 29, 1999, at 11:17:06

Hi, I`m sort of new to this but was hoping someone might have the information I am seeking. Is it possible that by having your generic brand of medication switched you could experience less efficacy? I recently had my generic brand of fluoxetine switched due to low supply available of previous type and have noticed significant decrease in mental well being.....more irritable, impatient, decreased concentration, anger, short fuse...etc.My family doctor feels it could be due to the new type of generic brand having different "fillers" and thus decreasing absorption of drug. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I have since, just recently switched back to original brand and am waiting to see if it makes a difference.
