Good Morning Clearskies

Posted by special_k on March 26, 2006, at 6:59:58

I know you can be an early riser...
And it might just be coming up 6am...
Or... It might not. I'm really very bad with that...
And I'm not sure what time zone you are in anyways.

Anyways... Good morning. I hope you have a nice day

:-)

Yes, I'm an early riser usually. Off to hike (!!!!) today. No visuals necessary, it's just ridiculous, me actually walking and watching nature. But it's our only chance to spend some time outdoors before the weather gets oppressively hot here.

I hope you had a great day today, Special.

Jeepers, only just! I was out by an hour (according to Babbletime)...

Aw. I've been known to do that occasionally. It is something that I miss now (that I can't really do it). Maybe... I'll take an anti-inflamitary someday and make myself. There are lots of birds here so I get some of that without having to venture too far.

these are everywhere:

they are really cute. they hang around in groups and they have a great song. these are cool too:

except they make on hell of a racket and wake me up.

Wow. It is just starting to get cooler here in the mornings and through the night (welcome relief at this point.

It got all the way up to 64 here. Perfect for walking around, no bugs yet and comfortable with a jacket on.
Many many butterflies, dragonflies, heard many different birds songs that I'm unfamiliar with.
This place has a really good, up to date education center. Beautifully done. No crowds, my favourite feature!!

Um, I am really bad at identifying butterflies! They weren't monarchs. Some were black with yellow edges, some were pale orange, and there were so many of them!

Butterfly gardens are very popular here. People cultivate particlar plants that attract them. My garden, on the other hand, consists of cactii and edible herbs. My goal this summer will be to not have too many of them expire from my neglect. I'm using it as a measure of my ability to nurture.

I don't know my butterflies either. In fact... Probably the only one I could identify would be monarchs (though I think there is another variety that mimic them too 'cause monarchs are poisonous so the birds leave 'em alone). Hmm... Maybe that is why I haven't seen any butterflies here... All the bloody birds lol. They are great. But they are noisey suckers especially at dawn.

> Butterfly gardens are very popular here. People cultivate particlar plants that attract them.

Ooh. I didn't know people could do that :-) Except for growing a swan plant for the monarchs.

Cactii are cool :-)
I hope you have lots of basil.
Mmm basil.
Do you make pesto?

Aw. Well... If they don't do so good... You can come give me hugs ok?

I make a wicked pesto sauce!! I try to keep some on hand year round, and keep a supply in the freezer.
