Did you find Maca stimulating? It made it difficult for me to sleep properly, I thought, although I never worked out why I couldn't. Hasn't Maca got a wonderful taste?

LOL Actually I take Maca to regulate my cycle and keeps cramps at bay, but it's my understanding, from talking to my alt. doc, that Maca is good for men moreso than women as far as libido. I don't notice any taste or smell that I can recall. BUT!!!!! The Damiana stinks to high heaven! I try not to touch it as much as possible, because I DON'T want to smell like it. The good part is that it makes me horny as all get out ..... hope that's not offensive to anyone!

I am ADD and take Adderall, never noticed much difference with just that, although it's my understanding it's "supposed" to enhance your sexual experience. Never did that for me. Damiana is the best thing I've found. I'll have to have my husband try it, so I can report how it affects him, or if it affects him.

Unfortunately, the sexual side effects from SSRIs can sometimes be permanent. Hopefully this will not be the case for you.

Damiana and Maca are herbal products used by some to deal with the sexual s/effects of SSRI drugs.
I haven't tried either but you should be able to find a few previous related posts.Enjay

They're herbs, you can buy them at any health food store. I don't know the mechanism, but they're both supposed to be libido booster for men and women, esp. the Damiana. If you do a search on google - Damiana libido - you'll get lots of info. The maca helps regulate my cycle (I'm female), and I get cramps ALL month long unless I take it. The Damiana just makes me HORNY!!!!!!! I LOVE it! LOLJazzy

This is very interesting stuff. For the past 7 years my libido has been non existent. I began taking ssri's 15 yrs. ago. Have been off meds for several years and the drive has never returned. Which of these works best for women and are there any other things I should give a whirl. I recently started wellbutrin again because I recall years back that it did help but it makes me angry and aggitated. Kind of a praying mantis effect. I want to sleep with you but might want to kill you afterwards - ha, ha!
