Ckg into hos*pital

Posted by Fivefires on May 2, 2007, at 13:34:00

I don't know if you can put a hold on my incoming threads, but if so, please do.

I'm having bad thoughts and not doing well physically w/o Zel*orm.

I need to be w/ some people, who are feeling as I do, for a bit, I think.

well to all

Turned Away, AGAIN!

'My bags were packed and I was ready to go' .. only to be told there was a miscommunication and no hands-on help arranged for me.

I am sad and angry.

I could go on and on about this, especially since it is the second time in four months I've been turned away due to 'no beds' or maybe not 'enough of a threat' to self, I'm guessing. What I want to say now would definitely need to be moved to another board and posted as a trigger, so won't say it. Any further discussion would probably need be redirected ... psych? ... social? ... not sure.

I posted on Admin because of my request re: stopping incoming emails, but then, after asking this, I thought to myself, someone would have to do a pretty extensive search, and more, to do such a thing and thought I'd asked the impossible. So, it would have been fine anyway; I mean, I would understand it not being possible to just stop the site from sending me emails. I would have probably had to do it on this end.

I guess someone could correct me, if reading this, if am wrong, though.

Tks 4 your thoughts ...

I assure you, it is possible. Though new procedures sometimes require modification of software, most operational parameters can be defined in most software if the software operator is sufficiently concerned about users' experiences to invest the effort. Matt'sBBS, which drives this site, could be modified to allow an operator to stop unwanted e-mails from being sent to users. The bulletin board system is written in Perl, which is a reasonably easy to learn programming language, especially if learned for a single-purposes. At most universities, interns are willing to lend programming skills to worthy causes on a volunteer basis. The process by which a software operator modifies software to improve a user's experience is called "support."

Temporary Halt/Hold on Incoming Mail

Tks Aunt Virginia. Well that is good.

As it stand for me tho', I'm 'still here' to watch over my computer.

If I had gone inpatient anywhere, it would have been an issue of privacy; someone else being able to get into my online world.

My children have access to my computer. They have a separate log in, but if something were to happen to me, I've given them my log in, password. I would wish them access.

It's not a situation of them or anyone here deliberately peeping around in my email, but you never know; one might do so accidentally, maybe forgetting their log in.

I'm comfortable my online world is secure.

If I know that I will be away for ... oh I don't know ... maybe 3 wks(?), I might then use this feature. So thank you for letting me of its availability.
