AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Gee on March 14, 2007, at 11:46:59

So, I'm trying to get into Ed here. I really really want to get in. I've been in school for 3 years now, and I just want to feel like I'm getting somewhere. It's iffy as to whether or not I'll get in here, so I thought I'd apply at a different uni. So, I've just finished filling out the application online, and it comes up "$100 fee to apply" I know it's normal, but I don't really want to go to another uni. I'm so conflicted! Should I pay the fee, should I not. Should I just hope I get in here... AH! If I don't pay, then the application gets cancelled in 30 days. Should I just wait a year, and then try?

Hey!

>I'm trying to get into Ed here

Sorry, being dim again, but what are you trying to get into? Ed? That sounds rude!! LOL, Ed is a boys name here. Anyway, I don't know. We don't have to pay for applications here (pay to apply somewhere!? You're doing them a favour, not the other way round!) Anyway that aside, which isn't very helpful, its alot of money.

It all depends on how you feel. If you only apply to the place you're in at the mo, and you don't get in, would you be comfortable taking a year out and applying again? What would you do with that time? Could you get sort of work related to what you want to do, and so strengthen your application? IMHO years out are good (although not too many!).

If the prospect of having a year out freaks you out, then I'd suggest you pay the $100 thing.

See what I mean?

Kind regards

Meri

Hi Gee,

I'm not sure where you are, but in the U.S. you pay to apply for just about any college/university. If it were me I would ask myself what I would get out of transfering to a different Uni. I tend to stick until I've finished, but that's me.

I've decided

I want to get into the education program, to become a teacher. We always have to pay to apply somewhere, but it's usually not that much!

I have decided I'm not going to transfer YET. I'm going to give myself one more year here, and then if I don't get into the education fauculty here, then I'll start applying other places. I need some stability. I've been to 3 different uni's in the past 3 years. Well, given that I'm back at the second one now (exchange), I don't really want to start all over again. Plus, if I give it another year, then it's likely my best friend will be at the other uni I'll be applying to if I don't get in here. So, I'll just keep trodding along with my degree for now

It sounds like you made the right choice! Maybe staying in one place will actually help you get into their education program. (shows dedication or something) What the heck do I know? LOL
Spring Break is over now! Boo hoo. But one good thing is only 1 1/2 months to go and YIPEE! I am taking the summer off because as much as I enjoy school, I am tired of this sh*t right now! LOL I hope to see you in chat this week. I have some major studying to do, I have 2 big exams this week. What kind of prof. would schedule exams the week after spring break? LOL
Keep troddling along!
