so this guy (a psychiatry guy) says to the NY times about how the US (I suppose) has invested, i don't know, billions of dollars into biological research on mental illness (neurobiology, genetics etc) really without very much to show for it. that they would basically look at more and more and more and more and more and more data for what was obviously less and less and less and less and less of a difference maker or a robust finding.

but what he didn't say... was that we knew it was likely to be a dead-end or not very productive BEFORE we invested that money into it. we made the executive decision to do that.

why?

why on earth would we not want to make progress on mental health stuff?

why?

oh yeah, because it's soooooooooooo competitive. and it is a sign / display of weakness that will only be used against you.

because when people get depressed and kill themselves and so on and so forth...

well c'mon. how many times and how many ways can we say that they should f*ck off and go away etc

(cernobyl)

nothing to see in this life people!

time to curl up and die!

just give us your stuff, hand it over...

give up and go away.
