here's how it goes:
statement of claim is lodged.
judge insists the statement of claim has not been pleaded properly.
judge insists on a particular construal of the statement of claim (one that cannot win).
judge gives 'opportunity' for statement of claim to be withdrawn and another statement of claim to be filed at a later date... otherwise the case will proceed with the construal of the statement of claim that was substituted in there, by the judge.

The front line healthcare workers!
Such heroes!!!
I believe: Sick people have enough on their plate without being responsible for making front line healthcare workers feel like heroes.
I feel like...
The whole thing of front line healthcare workers being revered as heores... Is a little... Culturally... Like being the guy yelling 'white lives matter' at a Black Lives Matter convention. That is to say... It is true that White lives matter. It is true that White lives matter just as much as black lives. It is true that many white lives have been treated terribly by elite white supermacists etc. But it it... What is the phrase... Tone deaf.
I do understand that managers felt entitled to grubbing up all the money to console themselves that the front line workers got recognition as heroes while they didn't get comparable recognition for all the work they did.
But I also understand that... YOu know... 'working at Burger King, spitting on your Onion Rings' for the lack of recognition and also money for all the work...
Singling out a group as heroes... Is... A bit tone deaf.
ANd risks cluttering the field with self-serving people who need to be revered as heroes.

I don't know how different the health system will be with the new system.
They are saying they are scrapping the DHBs -- but I don't know how different the 4 new things they are creating will be from the old 20 things they are scrapping.
Dunedin is saying they are afraid they will lose control and Christchurch will take over. But given that Dunedin has been mismanaging things for the people of Dunedin since forever (they still don't have a functional neurosurgery department because they will only hire 1 person who nobody else will / can work with and they will never hire 3 people for a properly functioning unit)...
The concern I have is that actually with 4 centres that will be Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. So Dunedin is actually expanding across central Otago and into Southland. Let's face it, they've actually been responsible for the lack of development there, also. They send the Dunedin based medical students into that region. Let's not kid ourselves that the real regions are determined by where the medical students are sent (because we won't really pay actual workers it's all where the students are sent).
So... Otago Med School sends kids Dunedin (central otago and southland). That's one of the new centres. Or one of the old centers. Otago Med school sends kids up to Christchurch. Let's not kid ourselves how much Christchurch is running things in Dunedin.... Dunedin is running things in Christchurch. Dunedin has a campus in Christchurch. That's the second of 4 centres. The third of 4 centres is Wellington. That's the third branch of the Otago Medcial SChool. With their 3 campuses: Dunedin, check. Christchurch, check. Wellington. Check.
Dunedin Medical School has been encoroaching up the NOrth Island... Up to Taupo, I heard when I was in Dunedin few years back. They were sending students as far up as Taupo.
As for Auckland... It is true that Auckland is the only city in New Zealand and at least 1/3 of the entire population lives in Auckland. Anyway... Auckland presently has... I don't know how many district health boards. Waitemata. Auckland city. Manakau... There will be others. So they will be scrapped...
Let's see... Where are the teaching placemetns... The 'streams'...
Northland. They send the Maori kids up there. We didn't need to have a 'rural bonded scholarship' where students ELECTED to work rural communities on graduation. We just force our workers to do what they are told otherwise they are thrown to the scrap heap of 'no job for you then'. You might think it's a case of streaming the Maori into the jobs nobody else wants. You might think it is racism. But New Zealand doesnt' believe in such things... It's an education trainng camp. Medical School. Clearly.
So Northland is one. ANd they are going Auckland / northland as one region. So Auckland is going to need to get it's sh*t together.
Which basically gives Otago permission to...

actually auckland sends kids down to hamilton.
they have three streams...
auckland. south auckland. hamilton. and northland is a rural scheme thing with is separate and distinct (there is a class division or... segregation... and everything)...
so the contested territory is just south of the waikato. and it is not contested at all it is Otago.
Why?
because of the regional centres thing mostly i guess. because of the population. because of otago being more geared towards rural health. issues of patient transport and the like. trying to figure trade off between large hospitals (3 specialists for a functional unit) and smaller medical centres closer to home.
why the reluctance to scrap boards? i mean boards involved boards of directors people paid too much. lots ofthem. i think the idea was 1/2 the board was required to be elected. who votes for members of the board? Not really any body. Hardly anybody votes for city councellors and less vote for health board. health board members were typically city councellors. nobody thought health board members truly representative of the communities served by the health system.
oen of them said on his way out (it will be the elected positions that are scrapped):
he said something about how the public health system was for the poor. for maaori. a back up for the working class who has private health insurance anyway.
to ensure those people are kept in their place. obviously.
apparently 1/2 the auckland district health board took vaccinations before it was their turn on the grounds that they had opportunity and they believed the person telling them what they wanted to hear (when they were responsible for hiring them and keeping them on payroll) that nobody who was supposed to have one would miss out on having one if they had one early...
my concern is... if 1/2 the board is scrapped and, say 1/2 the board is hired by the government towarsd the running of thse newe supercentres... then the 1/2 that took the vaccine ahead of their time... are they in or out? and the 1/2 that did not take the vaccine ahead of their time... are those people in or out?
i wonder on the correlation of that.
that will likely tell us whether things are expected to get better or whether they have chosen to invest in keeping / forcing things to be just as bad if not worse (i mean if you can get away with making things worse, why wouldn't you?)
what the elected person said on their way out. good riddance to him that he's out.
how many people of new Zealand have that conception of the heatlh system? want to have that conception of the heatlh system? want the health system to be that?
he's the guy who... if he thinks he can pay for... organ transplant if he needs one. blood products if he need some.

and of course i tell that to the highest level in new zealand:
the attorney general. and, in case the attorney general cannot act unless under instruction from a solicitor, i tell the solicitor general, as well.
and they acknowledge receipt of what i tell them.
and if they refuse to do their job (remove from office / prosecute government employees who are employed to investigate / prosecute corruption but who refuse to investigate / prosecute corruption).
then i write to the UN.
I'm sure UN speak-y English. And a few other languages besides.
new zealand doesn't have universities because they aren't processing the applications to enrol, they aren't allowing studnets to work to international standards of scholarship, they aren't conferring degrees on all and only people who have done the work for those degrees.
new zealand doesn't pay people fair wages for the work that they do.
the new zealand government keeps it's people as slaves.
teh new zealand government involutnarily detains people in conditions of torture.
we don't have doctors because we don't have universities...
