There are many people who, out of politeness, mock themselves in a way they would never use toward anyone else.
That's just our idea of good manners
I suppose school is different.

Gee, I'm sorry. That sounds horrible. But it also sounds like something that could be treated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you develop more realistic responses to other's laughter. One thing I've learned over the years is that people just aren't thinking about you as much as you think they are. They're mostly thinking about themselves.
Do you feel that you lack spontaneity and humor in you interactions with others?

It is a subtype of social phobia.

Do you see a therapist and/or participate in some kind of group therapy. I know you write about drugs to cure this, but really, it's a cognitive distortion (highly unlikely people are laughing at you, since most people aren't really even thinking about you). Combined with low self-esteem, which causes discomfort and awkwardness with others. This is the kind of thing which gets better when you have practice interacting with people, through a group or day program. Or see a behavioral therapist who may give you exercises to do - like go to a store and say something to the clerk.
I'm sorry you feel this way about yourself. It is a hard way to live.

Hey Baseball,
i am in a daytime clinic right now. 08:30 through 16:00. After that i plan to attend a professional training program that is supposed to make me more resilient work wise.
Well people are probably not laughing and even if they are, that doesnt kill me. I am always nervous when i speak infront of people. We always have to tell others how our day was.

A lot of people are nervous about public speaking. I am a bit, sometimes.
I also feel that people are laughing at me, sometimes. I have come to see that they sort of are, sometimes, but it's a nervous sort of a response from them, and they are seeking reassurance from others (me), rather than meaning anything malevolent by it.
I'm not very good at looking stangers in the eye and smiling in a friendly way. I tend to look to the side / look down. Groups of girls are the worst for giggling out of nervousness. If I could look strangers in the eye and smile calmly it would help them feel reassured / more at ease and they would laugh less...
Anyway... I just mean to say that sometimes when people laugh around you it doesn't mean they are laughing *at* you or that they are being malovolent.
I actually find groups of people quite threatening. Mostly because there typically will be one or two who will take it as some kind of personal affront that I don't look at them and smile... And they will eventually start up with 'what's her problem'? And so on... So that they basically... Are being malevolent and malevolently laughing at me...
But it comes from their liking me and wanting me to be their friend.
Sigh.
People, huh.
Yep.
This is the end of the thread.
