If the dsm/icd are so good and pdocs(in their own minds) are so God like how come they can find it hard to agree on a diagnosis/keep changing diagnoses over the years?
Over 39 years i have been variously diagnosed officially(sz ,sz with disorder of gender identity,sz with personality disorder, schizoaffective mixed type, personality disorder nos, and paranoid personality disorder and mentioned in my notes-bipolar,dependent,narcissistic.Truth is if there was a diagnostic bible for physical illnesses that resulted in doctors not only often disagreeing about diagnosis but regularly changing diagnoses,as often as can happen in psychiatry, then serious questions would be asked as to the competency of the doctors and the tools they use to arrive at a diagnosis.

I know that it's frustrating. I've been on the merrygoround for thirty years. They just settled on a DX of FU and gave me pills.
I had less side effects on street drugs and I'm not kidding.
Merry Christmas anyway.
