Think I'm getting into trouble here

Posted by Reggie BoStar on March 15, 2007, at 3:06:01

Something isn't right this time, memory has been going fast the last few days. I can't come up with words that I want to say and am having trouble with crosswords now. I seem to feel hypomanic and depressed at same time all day. I should go to bed but I am afraid that this will set off another sleeping jag. I almost had one last night, slept 15 hrs and had to force myself out of bed.

The record was last Dec or Jan, 60+ hours. I woke up from time time to drink bottles of Ensure (meal in a can), feed cats, go to john, then right back to sleep. There was no trouble sleeping either. I was out cold, no dreams, no nothing. I didn't take meds either for 4 days, then started up again.

I tried to see my doc but he said he was booked and if it got worse to go to E.R. So what, now I'm supposed to wait for an emergency? What do I do in the meantime, waiting for this emergency to happen? First time he ever did that to me since 1988.

The therapist said not to "take this personally" but she will not see me until the 22nd. I go to AA meetings a lot but this is not enough and besides AA doesn't help with this anyway. There is one dual diagnosis mtg but that is on the 21st, not much help this week.

I was trained not to trust this sort of thing, that it was "just nerves" or that I was bringing on my self, or that I was lying or just wimped out and didn't want to do anything. This is why I'm very sensitive to people acting the way the MD and therapist are. "Don't take it personally, but I can't see you now when you need it. Go someplace else if it gets worse."

Now this takes me back to when I was 10 and this nonsense started, 47 yrs ago when my parents talked the same way. Except they were more "vocal" about it.

I'm doing this here and on other boards because I figure tomorrow I'll get out of bed long enough to boot the PC, go online, and find out if there are answers. Whether or not I get any, by that time I'll be out of bed. There should be enough time to grab a diet coke while doing this, so I'll get a jolt of caffeine.

That's the plan for tomorrow. Have a good one, folks.

What he said.

Hmm, long time no post, but this one pulled me out of retirement.

My job is not his, I take care of things while he's in bed. It works out for the most part. This is known as a "working relationship".

If he does need the E.R., I should be able to get him there.

Leo

I'm glad that you're keeping Reggie safe, and appreciate that you let us know that.

Dr. Bob asks that we only use one posting name per household. It's ok to *sign* as a different name, in the body of the post, to differentiate. But as for the actual posting name, Dr. Bob asks that we use only one per household.

Dinah, I clicked on link and a page flashes up and is gone instantly. mebbe my computer thinks its a pop up, but then its followed by the civility FAQ. It doesn't say bout the more than one name per household.
So if there's 2 computers, and two babblers, they couldn't post?(in one house)
I wonder why? Is it a conflict thing?
Anyhow, you can answer on admin if you want.
Thanks.

Yeah, I couldn't find where it said that either from the link Dinah gave. Maybe I'm overlooking it?

Hi Folks,
It may be buried in one of the many links on that page. We started to read it, but then decided it was easier just to follow the policy as stated. Besides, it's understandable.

Also note this important fact: both Leo and I have the SAME EMAIL ADDRESS. That may be what is flagging the "one household" rule, because in cases like that there is no way to know whether or not more than one person is really posting.

In this way they may be trying to prevent multiple handles for one user. Sometimes trolls do this in order to mail-bomb forums.

In any case, it makes sense to me, so we'll comply.

I have a feeling this is going to ger redirected to admin....

Although, I do still feel lousy. I'm really starting to feel the reduced dose of Cymbalta now. The old memories of "that" depression are flooding back in...

Hi Again,

So now I'm guessing that multiple people from the same household but with different email addresses could post. That would be fair, since everyone in a household should be able to participate. Once again, as long as multiple "handles" don't use the same email address, what's the diff?

Of course I could be wrong for many reasons I don't know about (and there are many, my head feels like a bursting melon just trying to type).

What's your take on this, Dinah? Can different people in a household post as long as they use different handles AND different email addresses?

One thing is certain: I'm too lazy to move this thread to "Admin".

"Why this wouldn't break a rule, I'll never know".

I don't know if Groucho actually said that, but he must have thought it from time to time. Mania again. 2:00AM. Here we go. Mania and depression at the same time. It isn't fun. I feel terrible and exhausted, but I'll be posting on forums like this all night. Now what is a mixed mode like this called: is it Bipolar NON, or something else?

Forget what it's called. Is it dangerous? I had a bad spinout in the storm Friday, wound up in a ditch, but it was a slow-speed spin on ice, no damage to the car! I got towed out and just drove home. Amazing. What scares me is that I know I was flying that day too, so even though I was in slow traffic I was running a little fast inside, paying too much attention to all these plans and not enough to the fact that I was on black ice and shouldn't gun the engine or even touch the brakes. At least twice during all that fishtailing, I almost swerved into the oncoming lane. Phew! The officer who showed up took a loooong time to slide to a stop in the breakdown lane. He was nice, we both called AAA, and he told me not to worry about anything. He said people are all over the road in situations like this before the sand trucks get there. Time to break for the WC. Take care everyone, and thanks for taking the time to lend a hand.

Try this one. I may have pointed to the wrong FAQ. If this doesn't work, go up to the top of the FAQ and there's a list of questions.

Reggie, so do you have more than one computer? Cuz mebbe the babble stuff can tell if its idfferent computers?
I understand why the rule really, cuz someone could really mess with us otherwise I guess. I don't really know much bout it.
Hope your feeling better some.

Hi, Iwillsurvive,

No, there's only one computer. But there are two users, me and Leo. We use the same email address, which may have raised a flag. We could fix that by just using two different email addresses. If he has to post, he'll just re-register with a different email address. He should be able to post here as a separate person if he needs to.

I don't know if they pay attention to specific computers. I'm guessing they would do this by noting the IP address of a post's originator. It's tricky, though, because many people have ISP's that generate a new IP address every time they log on to the internet. A service like this might be able to tell which provider a poster uses, but not which computer is being used.

I suppose if two "different" posters send messages from the same IP at just about the same time, that might indicate multiple postings from one person. But then again, how could they know whether or not the first poster logged off immediately after sending a message, and the second poster happened to be assigned the same IP address? It's not likely, but it can happen.

This is all probably being too legalistic on my part. I'm just thinking "aloud". The point is that if Leo needs to post, he'll re-register with a different email address (and maybe a different handle if the signup process requires that). I doubt we'll be posting messages at just about the same time, the way we did at the beginning of this thread. That was a case where he just took over the machine and fired one off right away while I was in the john.

This is making my head hurt again and I've already been moving around too fast today. I'm also in that stage of serious depression that makes everything looks "wrong", especially anything I do.

I tried to walk it off earlier, but the weather wasn't so hot and the mood stayed in that same place. I'm looking at all my recent posts, too, and I don't like them or the way they were written. I'm paying way too much attention to things like that and I'm doing it as fast as I can.

I'm going to an AA meeting shortly. Maybe if I talk I can burn off some steam. There are people there who are very good at letting me know if I've been rambling too long, so I can't screw up too badly. The content of what I say will make a fool out of me. That's the way it is right now, I can't do anything about it.

Later aain and again,
Reggie BoStar

It's the same computer that's the problem. At one time a husband and wife were both posting, and even though they contacted Dr. Bob about it, I think I remember that he asked that they either use the same posting name but sign differently, or choose which one would post.

So, if for example my husband wanted to post, and we only had this computer, he would sign in as Dinah and sign the post "Dinah's husband".
