She called me this morning. I feel so GOOD. I was working up to the point where I was going to call her to schedule an appointment, but this works too. :)
Thanks everyone, for listening to me over the past two weeks. It's really helped.

Veracity, I'm so glad this worked out. Why did she call you? Not that it's any of my business, I'm just curious because the timing was so good.
Please keep us posted.

I just got back. It went really well, even though I was quite nervous.
I honestly don't know why she decided to call me. I sent her a letter the day after our last session, and she thanked me for it when she called today and invited me back if I wanted to come. She sounded 100% sincere that she would be fine with me coming back, so I said yes. I don't know why now, today, she decided to call but I'm just glad that she did.
We had a really good session today - I talked almost the whole time which has never happened before in 4 years, I think! We talked about some important stuff and I really think that she feels good about the direction we can go now. We're back on to meeting weekly. :)
I feel like this enormous weight is off my shoulders. I feel like I had ruined something really important but now I see that I didn't ruin it at all - it's still there and as good as always. Maybe even better, because I realize how much it means to me now. I told my therapist I cared about her (and I really do) and I had never said that or even acted like it before. But she knows now and it's all good. :)
Y'all know of what you speak - I'm so glad I was open to meeting with her again. It was so nice to come here and read so many people who know that feeling that way is okay and who recognize the importance of therapy and therapists in our lives. I don't think there are really that many people in my real life who would get that!

I'm so happy for you. Having quit several times in the past, it's such a relief seeing them again, and knowing that they are not holding the quitting against us. And you already settled on weekly appointments is great!!
Maybe she needed the time to re-read your letter, think about you and then to reach out again.
Keep talking and get your money's worth!
