I just got back. It went really well, even though I was quite nervous.

I honestly don't know why she decided to call me. I sent her a letter the day after our last session, and she thanked me for it when she called today and invited me back if I wanted to come. She sounded 100% sincere that she would be fine with me coming back, so I said yes. I don't know why now, today, she decided to call but I'm just glad that she did.

We had a really good session today - I talked almost the whole time which has never happened before in 4 years, I think! We talked about some important stuff and I really think that she feels good about the direction we can go now. We're back on to meeting weekly. :)

I feel like this enormous weight is off my shoulders. I feel like I had ruined something really important but now I see that I didn't ruin it at all - it's still there and as good as always. Maybe even better, because I realize how much it means to me now. I told my therapist I cared about her (and I really do) and I had never said that or even acted like it before. But she knows now and it's all good. :)

Y'all know of what you speak - I'm so glad I was open to meeting with her again. It was so nice to come here and read so many people who know that feeling that way is okay and who recognize the importance of therapy and therapists in our lives. I don't think there are really that many people in my real life who would get that!
